About Flowers Need Bees

Why I started Flowers Need Bees

So what’s all this about Flowers Need Bees?!

I’d been toying with the idea of starting a blog for a while. A friend told me,“I think you have more to say than you think,” and that stuck with me. And I realized that she’s right. I do have a lot to say.

So why am I blogging? Because all that stuff I have to say, it needs to come out of me.  I wish I could say that I’m blogging to save the world or that I’m writing to empower or inspire or enlighten. But in reality, I’m blogging out of necessity. I’m blogging because I believe that like flowers need bees, humans need creativity. And this will be my creative outlet.

I feel most expressive when I’m traveling, entertaining, writing, and creating art. So these are the categories I’ll write about here on Flowers Need Bees! And since I’m calling my blog Flowers Need Bees, I want to do something special for the bees! So I’ll also be sharing tips to help the bees and the environment under a category called For the Bees.

And, you know what? Maybe in the end I will manage to inspire a few others to find their own creativity!

Who am I?

This twenty-something girl lives in the South with my golden doodle and my two cats. I’m a pharmacist (you can call me Dr. Megan if you want, but I probably won’t realize I should answer!) working in the family pharmacy.

I save up all that pharmacy money for traveling. I’m a work to travel kind of girl! My love language is throwing big, old parties for my friends.  I love to write. I usually write in novel form, but I’ve recently decided to give poetry a whirl. (And I guess we’ll give this blogging thing a try too!) And I love making pretty things–usually in the form of hand-lettered items or watercolor paintings. Sometimes I’ll even throw in a door hanger shaped like my home state, Arkansas!
