Welcome to my (Halloween) home! Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday. I love decorating for it! I hope you enjoy this spooky tour of my home!

The Porch

Every Southern girl has to have an extravagant porch for every season, right!? Okay, I might not get my porch decorated for every season, but I did deck it out for Halloween this year! Check it out!

I wish you could see this in real life! There are flying purple bats dancing across the porch, glowing lanterns and pumpkins, and twinkle lights!

Entryway

My entryway table was the first piece of furniture I bought for my house! The black really works for Halloween!

I actually painted the watercolor above the table! I bought the frame at Goodwill and painted it with black milk paint then gave it a little sanding!

Dining Room

This centerpiece was the first Halloween decoration I owned even before I bought the house. It decorated my apartment during pharmacy school!

I was on a tighter budget in those days, so I bought spooky books and old ceramics from Goodwill! I painted the ceramics black, and they instantly turned chic and spooky!

Tips for Decorating on a Budget

  1. Check out Goodwill and thrift stores! Painting something black can make a great Halloween decoration! Try it with old vases and candlesticks! (Glitter can make anything Christmas!)
  2. Look at dollar stores! Last year for my Halloween party, I ran out of serving dishes and grabbed a few faux silver platters from Dollar Tree! They blended so nicely! You can often find spider webs and spooky decorations for cheap!
  3. Reuse! Last year I needed my dining table for a party and used the fabric on the chandelier for a simple table runner (along with brass candlesticks from Goodwill!). This year it looks spooky on my chandelier!

Decorating with Animals

my cat

I have two cats and two dogs living in my house! I adore them, but they can be hard on decorations!

This year, I finally found a solution! The Tattle Tale makes a loud noise when it detects vibrations! The cats and dogs quickly learned to stay away from the decorations!
